GSL Marsh Water Delivery Improvements: Pelican Haven & Turpin/Miller Ponds Outlet to GSL
Purpose: At the Odgen Bay WMA, the Pelican Haven project will refurbish 3,700 linear feet of levee. At Farmington Bay WMA, the Turpin/Miller Ponds Outlet project will install water control structures to enhance direct release of water flows to Great Salt Lake from the WMA.
Benefits: These improvements will reduce invasive vegetation and create more diverse wetland ecosystems, benefiting an estimated 2,480 acres of wetland habitat. Additionally, they will reduce evapotranspiration and improve water management for waterbird habitats.
